About Annas

We are called Annas Pepparkakor, and are often referred to as Annas. The name Mor Annas (Mother Annas) was created when Annas received media attention during the so-called Banana Conflict. It was the journalists who gave Annas a different name for a period of time.

About the products

No, some products - like gingerbread houses - are only sold from October to December. When the products are sold out in the store, you have to wait until next year. But our delicious gingerbread cookies are available all year round.

Yes, we have different flavors of gingerbread cookies! Annas Pepparkakor comes in Original and Orange flavors.  You can read more about our flavors under Products.

Annas cookies are very thin and crispy. These are qualities that make them popular but also a little fragile. Sometimes it can happen that some cookies break on the way from Annas to your coffee table. Of course, we want to deliver as many whole gingerbread cookies as possible and are constantly looking for improvement measures such as more impact-resistant cardboard boxes and safer transportation. You have control over the last part of the transport, so please handle the packaging carefully in your shopping cart and on the journey home.

Yes, it is braille that we have on our 300 gram boxes. The boxes are marked with "Annas Pepparkakor" and indicate the flavor of the packaging.

Annas does not decide which products the stores should carry, that is up to the store buyer or the store's head office (the wholesaler). If you are missing a flavor in your store, you can always ask the bread manager if they can supplement the assortment with your favorite.

It has to do with the humidity. High humidity can make dry cookies a bit softer. If the house parts seem soft even before the gingerbread house is assembled, you can bake them for a short time in the oven at about 100 degrees Celsius.

Our gingerbread cookies are baked with margarine, which includes a blend of different oils, including palm oil. We are members of RSPO, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, whose work aims to promote sustainably produced palm oil by setting requirements for growers regarding the environment, social aspects, and transparency. Since January 2016, we have been baking our gingerbread cookies with margarine that contains only segregated palm oil. This means that the palm oil is produced in an environmentally and socially sustainable way and comes only from certified growers.
